The Western Cape, or the Cape as it is affectionately referred to, is the gateway to Africa and home to the vibrant city of Cape Town. Port Elizabeth, known as the "Friendly City", is the gateway to the Eastern Cape. Historical sites include Donkin Street, where settlers from Britain set up home in 1820. To the west is the lush Tsitsikamma Forest, which means "place of abundant water", while to the east are the Amatola Mountains. Both areas are ideal for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits like hiking.
